I spoke with more than one liaison, but when I went to view thew space and deal with the dirty details of lease agreements, I was met by a man named Vaughan, who showed nothing but enthusiasm, respect and might I add a lot of interest in my endeavour. You see, I try my best to do charity work within my community in whatever way I can, for example donating time and/or monies to the SPCA, or helping out with the dogs at the Fulfilling Hearts Rescue, etc.
When I told Vaughan about this, he told me that I just might fit the criteria to become a Lion. Well what do ya know? That's pretty neat. The thought had never crossed my mind. However, after looking into this prospect, I have come to realize that doing so would be quite honourable as well as rewarding. They do so many cool things I had no idea about! They help organizations that work with seeing eye dogs for blind people, they help with the hearing impaired, they donate to clubs like the Moncton Boys and Girls Club and have programs to for children, teens and even adults. They are advocates for the environment, they hold events to fundraise for disadvantaged youth, for families who need financial support, and for a multitude of other reasons. And as if that's not enough, they are an international club and conferences are held all over the place! These people have dedicated their lives to helping others and membership numbers are at a stalemate... I'm sure they would love nothing more than to work hand in hand with the very people they have tried to help all these years; The young folks. So, if you've got some time and would like to help out, I'm sure they would welcome some young blood to be infused into their collective body.
That being said, there are so many different organizations one can align themselves with, or they can choose to go it alone. Whatever method you prefer, get involved in whatever way you can to make this world a better place.
Ciao for Meow. And don't forget to enjoy your day... "the sun is shining and the weather is sweet, yeah."
