The driving force behind Dogma is Katie Sullivan. Katie has always had a passion for animals and after living and working with animals overseas, she decided to take the plunge and make her passion her life. She has had involvement with several rescue organizations in Taiwan, including Many Animals Need Assistance (MANA), Taichung Universal Animal Protection Agency (TUAPA), and Animals Taiwan to name a few. While working with these organizations, she helped immunize, neuter and release hundreds of stray dogs. She was also involved in training other various dogs in the community and meanwhile spearheaded a small initiative to locate permanent homes for puppies born on the street.
Upon her return from Asia, she became a Certified Dog Trainer. She attended the Animal Behaviour College where she received Honours Status and completed her apprenticeship with Bob Ottenbrite and the Lietash Canine Academy crew in Halifax, NS.
Katie is currently recognized by the Canadian Association for Professional Pet Dog Trainers and is in the process of earning accreditation as a Knowledge and Skills Assessed Trainer by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
She also works closely with several vets in the city, has been contracted for behaviour consultations in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia and recently began volunteering her skills and knowledge to The Relinquished Souls Animal Rescue. Her training style and absolute authenticity also earned Dogma the Platinum Award in the Moncton Community Votes campaign for Dog Training two years in a row.
